Pinch! Be careful of dropping things!
Item stolen: Baseball gloveFloodlights blaze on to the screams of "Kaitou Saint Tail!" We see Asuka Jr. watching this from above. He is sure this is a ruse and that she will be there any moment. At the sounds of running feet he hides beside the doors, as Lina rushes out! Leaping at her Asuka Jr. launches himself at what he thinks is Saint Tail. Lina ducks under him and Asuka Jr. lands flat on his face. Turning they confront each other, both equally surprised to see each other. From above comes the sound of Saint Tail, congratulating them on a job well done. Asuka Jr. can't believe he's been had again, while Lina notices something falling from the sky... two tickets to see the baseball championship: Dolphins versus the Eagles.
In the chapel the next day we see a baseball pitcher warming up. When Seira arrives he apologizes for doing such a thing in a church. Embarrassed he moves to leave, and Seira recognizes him as the pitcher for the Dolphins. She asks him to tell her why he has come today and he explains that a favorite glove has been stolen. Seems the month before the team owner's daughter asked for his autograph for a friend. The girl held the glove while he wrote out the autograph and when he looked up, she was gone. He explained he threw his first no-hitter with that glove and the division championship is coming up on Sunday. Without the glove his game has been in a rut and he was praying she would give it back. Seira assures him that God is watching over him.
We fade to Meimi and Seira beside the pond where Meimi agrees to recover the glove while trying to boast about her tickets to the game. Reaching into her pocket she pulls out a math test with a score of 26... not the tickets. Seira, confused, asks if Meimi is a baseball fan. Meimi says that the tickets weren't for her, and we have a flash back to math class...
Sister is holding the offending test, wanting to know the reason for it. Meimi gabs it and clutches it to her chest; while Sister goes on to say that if her grade doesn't improve she will have to take Sunday classes. Meimi howls in alarm, to the sounds of Asuka Jr.'s laughter. Sister rounds on him and tells him to help Meimi do her math.
Both Meimi and Asuka Jr. feel this is a punishment far beyond the pale. But after class that day Asuka Jr. says to Meimi that he wants to see the Dolphin's game, and he wonders how he can go. Meimi, scandalized, wonders if he means she should pay for his ticket and when he reminds her about Sunday classes the blackmail works, only...
Seira is excited... an actual date! She wants to know if Meimi is looking forward to Sunday. Meimi denies it's a date, its a debt, and says she got the tickets from her father. But then her indignation fades as she remembers the tickets are missing. While Meimi howls Seira says they will search for them the next day.
We see Meimi asking her friends the next day, even as Asuka Jr. calls to her, a broad grin on his face, reminding her of their deal. Seira, ever so sly, asks if Meimi was planning on going to the game with him, eliciting gasps of pleasure from Rokyo and .... They demand to know if it's a date... while Meimi tries to explain it away, only to end in tears. Across the room Lina looks on. She reflects on the dropped tickets from Saint Tail, and the ones Meimi is missing and puts it all together.
Out on the balance beam Meimi is so lost in thoughts and worries she doesn't realize that the routine that she is doing is showing her acrobatic skills off to a level she doesnt want known. Lina, observing this, is only more convinced that Meimi and Saint Tail are one and the same.
Next door, on the soccer field, Asuka Jr. turns in time to block a goal with his face, and the ball explodes becoming a challenge from Saint Tail. "Tonight at the Uchara residence I will come for Oikawa Toshu's glove. Saint Tail."
Asuka Jr., however, is not conscious for this reading of the challenge. The gathered boys go on to wonder how it is that Saint Tail and Lina can be interested in him. Meimi is watching the proceedings and Lina is watching Meimi.
Back in the classroom Meimi is now ready to look for the tickets when Asuka Jr. grabs her, demanding to know where she thinks she's going. Asuka Jr. hands Meimi a pile of books under whose weight she falls to the floor. He reminds her the test is the next day and Meimi laughs nervously.
Alone in the classroom Asuka Jr. explains to Meimi that solving math problems is like catching criminals. Meimi asks why he puts it in that way, then asks why he is so interested in catching Saint Tail. At first he ignores the question, but when she repeats it he says it has nothing to do with her. Meimi wants to know what he means by that and he says it's between Saint Tail and him. Rising to her feet Meimi demands to know why, and a shocked Asuka Jr. drops the pencil he'd been holding. Meimi, recovering herself, takes her seat and the lesson resumes. Meimi is barely listening when suddenly Lina is at the door, asking to see Meimi. Meimi joins her and Lina produces the missing tickets and asks if these belong to Meimi...
Eye Catch
Lina says she found them 2 nights ago and would Meimi like to know where? Meimi thanks her, but says they are not her tickets. Lina says fine, she'll keep them. As she moves to leave she asks if Asuka Jr. is a Dolphins' fan and maybe she'll invite him to the game. There is nothing Meimi can do.
Back at home Meimi's mood hasn't improved as she complains to a very sympathetic Ruby. Why did Lina have to find them she laments?
Lina is at the Uchara residence trying to convince the current owner of the glove that they, Asuka Jr. and herself, need to watch the glove. The girl will not part with it. Asuka Jr. arrives at this point as asks what the strange table is for. As he places his hand on it green paint sprays in every direction, coating him from the chest up. Lina says it's a trap to catch Saint Tail, and Asuka Jr. asks her what she has against the thief. Lina falls back on wanting to be a policewoman. While Lina renews her fight with the girl Asuka Jr. has conceived a plan to catch Saint Tail.
At the chapel Meimi becomes Saint Tail and Seira warns her that things are going to be happening and to take care.
In the Uchara residence we see: Saint Tail reaching for the glove on the trap table, and then the green paint, and then the police all piling on top of her. When the lights are turned out the police see that Saint Tail is actually a dummy, even as she expands and then bursts, sending streamers and confetti into the air. The real Saint Tail is standing on the veranda watching the proceedings with interest.
Meanwhile, at the baseball field, Asuka Jr., the girl with the glove, and Lina are hiding until Saint Tail is caught back at the house. The girl is as obnoxious here as at home. Asuka Jr. finds himself confronted by a blushing, big-eyed Lina who says she has tickets to the game on Sunday. Saint Tail is within earshot and is horrified that Lina is offering up her own tickets. Asuka Jr. declines the offer though, saying that he already had plans to go with Meimi. Lina tells him that she doesn't think that Meimi will come through with her promise. This surprises Asuka Jr. and Lina then goes on to say that she knows who Saint Tail is, and would he like to know.
Once again he turns her down, while a panicking Saint Tail listens in. No, he doesn't want to know, he just wants to catch her.
Saint Tail then opens the dome on the ball field, allowing the night air in which attracts Asuka Jr.'s attention. Saint Tail comes floating in on a heart shaped balloon. Asuka Jr. is stunned... how could she have known to come here? Rina tells him not to worry; she'll catch the thief. Waving her arm for a "First pitch!...
It's Show Time!"
Suddenly Rina and the girl with the glove are floating upwards amid hundreds of tubular balloons.
Rina calls to Asuka Jr. to do something, but as he says, what can he do? Saint Tail says she'll end the game quickly and produces a pin, which she uses to pop the balloon she's now laying on. Both girls are forced back down under the power of the balloon blast. The balloon appeared to have been full of baseball gloves that now rain down onto the playing field.
Panning up we see Saint Tail holding the stolen glove. She chides the girl for stealing saying no matter how big a fan you are you can't just take things. Asuka Jr. yells at the girl, "It was stolen?" and she excuses herself as best she can saying she'll never do it again. Saint Tail then produces the missing Dolphin tickets and says she'll return those as well. Rina can only look on in shock.
Running after her, calling for her to wait Asuka Jr. pursues Saint Tail, only to see her escape balloons rise up. With an odd look on her face Saint Tail watches him, until she smiles and thinks, "Thank you, I love you," and floats away.
The next day at school Asuka Jr. is yelling at Meimi to meet him at the second gate and she replies she has no idea which is the second gate! He says it's the north one and Meimi repeats her question while Seira tries to get the couple to lower their voices. At the back of the room Rina looks on, thinking to herself that she will get the proof she needs to expose Meimi.
We then see the stadium and hear the announcer wondering what kind of pitching we are going to see today. We then have several shots of the pitcher striking people out. He is very excited. Panning around we find Asuka Jr. and Meimi in the stands. Asuka Jr. is all worked up over the pitching and Meimi watches him for a moment. In her mind she sees him telling Rina that he will catch her and that he doesn't want to know her identity.
Looking back at her Asuka Jr. smiles and says, "We can thank Saint Tail..." and asks Meimi why she is blushing. Startled at being caught Meimi says it's because it's hot and turning away thinks, "I love you!"
