I… confessed?
Item stolen: Heirloom jewel
The scene opens with Meimi and Ryoko walking into school discussing how the Junior Design contest went and Ryoko is sure the winning dress would have looked great on her as well. Meimi suggests she ask Miki-chan who would be sure to allow her to try it on. Ryoko agrees with the prediction and hurries off to ask.
Meimi then becomes aware of Asuka Jr.’s voice. He is trying to convince Takamiya that he doesn’t want to be told who Saint Tail is. Takamiya reminds him they have a bet, which pricks Meimi’s curiosity. Watching from a corner Meimi sees the end of the fight where Takamiya tells Asuka Jr. to let her know when he next receives a challenge. Peeved Asuka Jr. runs off. Meimi then approaches Takamiya for more information. She asks her if the bet is for ice cream or a burger… something harmless. Smugly Takamiya asks Meimi if she wants to know. Meimi can’t help but be wary of the tall blonde. Takamiya goes on to explain what happened at the end of the Junior Design contest.
"In other words, if I can prove you’re Saint Tail, I win."
Meimi is, understandably, horrified. Takamiya brushes past Meimi whispering how she won’t give up.
We then see Meimi, not listening to Sister giving a math lesson (Meimi’s worst subject,) but watching Asuka Jr. intensely and wondering why he would make such a bet. Sister notices Meimi isn’t listening and makes her go to the board to solve the problem. As she passes Asuka Jr. he chides her for daydreaming and she yells at him, leaving him wondering what he did.
It’s after class and Seira is wondering, aloud, why their plan to fool Takamiya failed. Meimi is still wondering, aloud, why Asuka Jr. made the bet. Meimi then resolves to not be caught. Seira slyly asks her if being caught had been an option, to which Meimi explodes in the negative. Seira quickly changes the subject.
It seems a young man, Kanamori, had inherited an heirloom jewel from his grandfather, but the trustees of the will managed to change the will and kept the jewel, while trying to find a buyer for it. Kanamori has tried on several occasions to retrieve the gem from his relatives with no luck. Meimi immediately says she’ll help, but worries about Takamiya. Seira is sure that Asuka Jr. will go through with the bet, but assures Meimi that Saint Tail won’t be caught that easily. She tells Meimi that she will take care of things.
We then move to Meimi’s room where Ruby is playing with Meimi’s cologne locket. Meimi returns, just in time for Ruby to leap at her, and get hung up in the necklace. Meimi’s father then calls her downstairs again as he has a new magic trick to show her. While Meimi stands, holding his hand with her eyes closed, he manages to escape and place mom in his place, while Meimi is still holding "his" hand.
We then move to the Asuka residence where Asuka Jr., while making breakfast, receives his next challenge.
Upon showing it to Takamiya she comments on it’s burnt corners, and Asuka Jr. explains it was in his breakfast. Takamiya is happy to announce she has a plan. She’ll use Saint Tail’s weak point to catch her. Asuka Jr. says he’ll cooperate, as long at things are done fairly. Takamiya says she’ll do it herself, and that if he doesn’t interfere they can settle the bet. She then makes him promise as he leaves the room.
Eye Catch...
Nighttime at the chapel where Meimi becomes Saint Tail. Seira hands her a small vial of liquid and tells Saint Tail that it will be useful.
We cut to Takamiya and Asuka Jr. arguing beside the heirloom jewel. Takamiya wonders how he can call himself a man if he can so easily go back on his promise. Asuka Jr. blanches, and Takamiya tells him to wait outside, which he does.
Saint Tail arrives and finds a lone guard. Spraying him with the ‘perfume’ in the vial, he goes to sleep. Saint Tail apologizes, but tells him she needs his help. Turning Saint Tail sees the jewel in its case, and an unconscious Asuka Jr. lying beside it. Horrified she rushes in to investigate, only to be caught by Takamiya, who was disguised as Asuka Jr. Removing the wig Takamiya calls to Asuka Jr. that
she has captured Saint Tail and he should turn on the lights in the room. Asuka Jr. enters… slowly. This is not the ending he had wanted. Saint Tail manages to break her hand free of Takamiya, and in a shower of confetti replaces the hand with another. Takamiya catches the hand, and yells again for Asuka Jr. to turn on the light. Asuka Jr. charges into the room, intent on being the one to capture her, and Saint Tail is momentarily arrested by his words. Using the distraction Saint Tail gets the heirloom, while Takamiya lifts the Saint Tail she has captureds face into view. It’s the sleeping guard, dressed as Saint Tail. Shocked that Saint Tail is a man Asuka Jr. doesn’t know what to think, and even more shocked is Takamiya, who can’t believe that Haneoka Meimi is actually a man! On the ledge, over looking the action, Saint Tail wonders if she over did it.
Back home Asuka Jr. is trying to come to grips with the idea that Saint Tail is a man, when he receives a note from Saint Tail to meet her in the park. As he walks over he determines to not get to close to the man he thinks is Saint Tail.
Seated on a tall clock Saint Tail pretends to shoot Asuka Jr. with a finger gun for trying to trick her with Takamiya. Asuka Jr. can’t believe his eyes at first, but then is relieved Saint Tail is female. She warns him about trying to discover her identity and calls it heavenly justice that he had to suffer for that brief time, thinking she was male.
Asuka Jr. hurriedly explains that he wasn’t trying to help Takamiya, but that they had a bet. Saint Tail questions him about it, and learns the whole truth. Stammering a bit Saint Tail says that wasn’t why she was mad, she says that if she does get caught she wants it to be by him, and no one else.
Overcome with the confession she quickly disappears. Asuka Jr. is confused, but glad Saint Tail is female. He then resolves to keep the truth from Takamiya.
Across town Saint Tail returns the jewel to its true owner.
Next morning Asuka Jr. reminds Takamiya of the conditions of their bet, and Takamiya, still in a daze, is only to happy to put it all behind her. Feeling slightly guilty Asuka Jr. feels a hand on his shoulder… it’s Meimi, asking him about the bet. He blushes, remember Saint Tail saying she wants to be caught by him alone, and wonders if Meimi could be… but no. He yells at Meimi that the bet was none of her business and the usual fight breaks out.
