Kaitou Saint Tail - November 1996 Comic Fans, Chapter 8
"Whoaaaa......! Somebody come quick!" A voice shouted. "Kaitou Saint Tail is here!"
"Kaitou Saint Tail!!" Asuka Jr. ran towards the source of the shouts with Rina. "Where is she!?"
They see from the balcony St. Tail floating away with her bunch of balloons. "Thanks for your help! So long!"
Asuka Jr. bangs his head against the railing on the balcony. "She got away again.... arrrrgh....."
Two slips of paper float down towards Rina. 'What's this?' she thinks. 'It just came down from the sky...'
The papers were tickets to a baseball game of the Dolphins versus the Eagles on Sunday in the Big Dome. 'This is what
St. Tail... dropped?!' Rina thought to herself.
At St. Paulia Gauken (Academy)...
Seira-as-a-nun gasped in surprise as a man walked into the church. "Ah.... are you... the Dolphin baseball team's
pitcher?" (Note: I don't have his name here because I don't know what his name is in Japanese. Gomen ne!!! ^^;;;)
He takes his hat off and says, "You recognize me? What an honour!"
Seira smiles. "Because you're very popular right now, that's why. This is the first time I've met a professional baseball
player! Why are you coming to church today?"
"The reason is.... the glove I always use for games has disappeared.... no, I should say it was stolen!" he looks down
on the ground.
"Oh..." Seira said, letting him continue.
"After our last game ended, the daughter of the baseball team owner (<--This isn't exactly right, it's the daughter of
someone the baseball owner knew, sounds too confusing tho..) asked me for an autograph... and when I was signing it
I asked her to hold my glove for me, but when I was done and was going to give the autograph to her, she and the
glove had both disappeared." He sighed. "If I don't have that glove, then I can't pitch, so I'm very frustrated right
now......"
"You can't just ask her to give it back?" Seira suggested.
"No, I don't think she had any bad intentions, so I don't want to make a big scene. So right now I can only pray for her
to return it herself, that's why I came here today." He said.
"When's your next game?" Seira asked.
He smiled. "This Sunday..... at Big Dome versus the Eagles."
Seira clasped her hands together around a cross and smiled, "Please don't worry, the Lord will protect you!"
"So the story is this, Meimi, and I want to get the pitcher's glove back... is it possible?" Seira and Meimi were in the
private room in the church, with one of those screens between them.
"No problem!" Meimi winked. "Actually, I'm going to the game on Sunday, so I hope the pitcher does well... HUH?"
Seira looked at Meimi, startled. "What's wrong?"
Meimi starts turning all around and looking in her dress pockets. "My tickets.... HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?! THE
TICKETS TO THE DOLPHINS GAME IS MISSING.....!!!!!!!" she shrieked.
"I didn't know that Meimi's... a baseball fan!" Seira exclaimed. (Again, the grammar's not perfect with this one but...
^^;)
"I'm not! I'm not the one who wants to go!" Meimi made a face. "You should know, Seira! Sometime ago during
math..."
Flashback....
"Haneoka-san!" A sister (uh, a church nun, not a family sibling ^^;;) held up her test, with the score of 26%. "What's with scores like this? If you don't get at least 30 next time you'll have to stay after school!"
"Uhhhh..!?" Meimi groaned.
The nun turned to Asuka Jr. "Asuka-san!"
"What?" Asuka Jr. looked at the teacher.
"Teach Haneoka-san math!" she said to Asuka, then turned to Meimi. "With someone who is doing well in math to tutor you, then that would be so much better."
Meimi and Asuka both went, "HUH?!"
"I DON'T WANT TO!" They both screamed at each other with this really funny expression on their faces. "He/she's
an idiot...." They both groaned at each other and sighed.
The teacher looked relieved as she left, "Well, you two just get along, then!"
End of flashback...
Seira had a very happy look on her face, "So that happened! How wonderful!"
"Huh! It's NOT wonderful! You know what that creep said after school?" Meimi said with a furious expression.
Flashback... after school at St. Paulia...
Asuka grinned, "Heh.... you know, I really want see the baseball game at Big Dome... let's make a deal, Haneoka-san."
"WHAT?!" she screamed at him (again), after he told her what he wanted. "You want ME to take YOU to the baseball game?"
"Well, if you don't want to then have detention!" Asuka walked out of the classroom.
Meimi pleaded, "Okay! I promise to take you to the game!"
End of flashback...
"See, it was like that! He has to pick on people's weaknesses..." she banged against the screen madly.
"Um.. that's a date!" Seira pointed out to Meimi. Meimi still had the extremely mad face as Seira said happily, "Sunday (the day of the game) is a wonderful day!!" Side note from Seira: What are you wearing to your date? Meimi!
Meimi wasn't as mad now, "No… this isn't a joke! This is terrible! The tickets I had to beg my dad to buy... and now, the tickets are missing..." she cried out.
'Looks like she was looking forward to this date,' Seira thought to herself.
The next morning at St. Paulia, Ryoko, one of Meimi's friends with short black hair asked, "The Dolphin's tickets for the big game?"
"I seemed to have lost them somewhere, have you seen it?" said Meimi anxiously.
"Um.." said Kyoko, another friend with long brown hair tied up in a big red bow.
"Nobody saw it," Ryoko said. "How could you be so careless? They're such a popular team, all the tickets have sold out already!"
Now Meimi was REALLY anxious. "Be quiet! If that guy finds out..."
"Haneoka!!!" Asuka Jr. called out. Meimi freaked out and stood still. "Don't forget about the game on Sunday!!" He walked by with a whole mountain-like stack of homework "I'll make sure you get 100%!!"
"The baseball game.. I heard Meimi and Asuka are going there together." Seira said.
Meimi's friends started bugging Meimi, "You're going with him?" "I always thought you guys were enemies..."
"But now the tickets are missing.....!" Meimi cried. One of her friends mumbled 'Oh so that's why...'
Rina looked at Meimi and the girls from somewhere else in the classroom. "The things St. Tail dropped.. and the things Haneoka Meimi lost both are.. the tickets to the same game on the same day.." Rina stopped. "What if..."
"Hup!" Meimi flipped onto the balancing beam during PE class. "Hop!"
"Meimi's so good!" Kyoko (?? I can't really see her) cried as Meimi did back flips
Ryoko grinned, "A perfect 10!" as Meimi landed on the ground gracefully.
"That routine.." Rina thought to herself, "if you think about it carefully, it isn't easy at all!"
"Asuka..!" A boy shouted as they were playing soccer. "He's over there! Hurry and block him!"
Asuka Jr. turned his head. "Huh?" The soccer ball came flying towards his head, and he gets hit in the face *HARD* as the ball bounces off his face.
"Ah...." A boy mumbled. (Side note: Figures that would happen...)
The soccer ball flew up into the air and exploded. "Hey," A boy looked at the piece of paper floating down as the other boys were looking at Asuka and saying things like "Who let him be the goalie?!" and "Asuka! Are you okay??"
"Hey!! This is... a note from St. Tail!"
"Tonight I'm going to take back the Dolphins' pitcher's glove. St. Tail"
Another boy shook Asuka Jr. "Did you hear that? Asuka!! Hey!"
"Get up......!"
"St. Tail, or Rina... why would they even care about a guy like this..." someone mumbled. "I don't understand that..."
Meimi looked over at the crowd of boys. "You have to read that carefully..." she thought to herself.
Rina looked at Meimi. "Haneoka Meimi... she seems suspicious in all areas..!"
Back at the classroom...
"Haneoka-san!" Rina waved Meimi over. "I have something to say. Can you come with me over here?"
"What's wrong, Takamiya-san?"
Rina reached into her pocket and pulled out the two baseball game tickets. "Aren't these... yours?"
"Uh!!" Meimi gasped. "That.."
"These... I found a few nights ago." Rina said with a very mean look on her face. "Want me to tell you... where I found it?"
'Oh, no...' Meimi thought to herself. 'That day.. I took it carefully with me...' "Thank you," she started, "For coming to ask me, but, those... aren't mine!" 'Takamiya Rina just had to find these...!'
Rina waved them in front of Meimi's face, "Oh? Really? Then, I guess these tickets should be mine! I know that Asuka is... a fan of the Dolphins... if I invited him to go with me, I'm sure he'll be happy!" She smiled as she walked away.
'I have to... find a way to get those tickets back... what if she finds out...' Meimi thought.
'But...' she thinks of Asuka Jr. saying "Don't forget!"
At the little kid's (who stole the glove) house...
"If I said I wouldn't give it, then I don't give it!" A voice shrieked (Actually it's 'then I won't give it!' but in Chinese it
doesn't matter and it sounds cuter ^^). "This is mine!! I won't give this to anybody!"
Asuka Jr. looked at the girl, getting nervous. "But.. um, that glove is what St. Tail wants..."
"NO!!!!!" the girl held the glove tighter and turned away from Asuka.
"Sigh.... there's nothing else we can do! We'll take her to the Big Dome too!" Asuka said.
"Eh?" Went the security guards. "Take the glove to the Big Dome!" Asuka ordered. "This time we have to plan ahead of St. Tail. Even if Kaitou Saint Tail shows up there, there's light everywhere, she won't be able to hide! Everyone!
Take care of the entrance to the Dome...!"
The guards saluted Asuka. "Yes!" (Hmm you'd think this is the military or something ^_^)
"Tonight we have to succeed...!" Asuka Jr. thought.
At the St. Paulia's school church...
"God... please pray that tonight... everything will go smoothly." A shadowed girl with long hair threw up a magician's hat. "One! Two.... Three!!" St. Tail appeared with a big burst of confetti and light, holding the magician's top hat.
"Meimi," Seira tried to get Meimi/St. Tail's attention, but St. Tail was looking at the confetti still falling around her from her transformation... "The glove isn't in that kid's house, it's at Big Dome!"
"How would you know that?" Meimi asked. (Side note: "You're pretty scary..." with a sweatdrop.)
Seira and clasped her hands together. "I heard from Asuka Jr. that was part of tonight's plan." Side note: Just call me an expert on asking questions.
St. Tail smiled. "That guy's pretty stupid..." 'That means the tickets are at Big Dome!' she thought. St. Tail and Seira prayed, 'We wish that God will accept this as usual, to protect us and make tonight successful."
Asuka Jr. stood inside the Big Dome. "What a coincidence! The glove is the one he uses all the time..." He turned to the girl. "You know, I'm a fan of the Dolphins too!"
The girl stuck her tongue out at him. "Ha! I still can't give it to you!"
"I know...." Asuka said getting frustrated and nervous at the same time.
Rina walked up to Asuka. "A- asuka! I... have the tickets to the Dolphin's game!"
St. Tail peeked from around a corner. She saw.. 'Takamiya-san...!' she thought. "Do you want to go to the game with me?" she heard Rina ask.
Asuka Jr. looked at Rina, "Thanks for your offer, but I'm already going to the game with Haneoka."
"Oh... really? Will Haneoka keep her promise?" Rina asked. "Huh?" Asuka mumbled.
"I know who Kaitou St. Tail is!" Rina smiled. Asuka Jr. turned around sharply.
"If you promise to go to the game with me..." Rina held out the tickets, "I can tell you the truth!"
St. Tail covered her mouth to keep from crying out. 'No......'
"I refuse!" Asuka shouted. Rina looked really surprised by and St. Tail looked sad
but relieved.
"You.." Rina asked, "Don't you want to know?"
"I just want to catch her myself." Asuka said, "No matter who she is, I just want to catch her with my own hands!!"
St. Tail jumped down from where she was, and...
Rina and Asuka Jr. both turned. "Huh? There's wind...!?" Asuka watched as the roof of the dome opened. "The... the ceiling...!"
St. Tail, standing on a huge balloon with a bow, floated down from the top of the dome. "Good evening, everyone!"
Asuka held his hands to his head and started freaking out, "Why... HOW did she know it was here!?" Side note: And what is that big balloon?!
"Who cares about that, hurry up and catch her!" Rina shouted at him.
"Look at my first pitch!" she winked then snapped her fingers. "One! Two... Three!!" Rina and the kid shrieked as they rose up into the air.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!" they screamed.
St. Tail lay down on her balloon. "Hmm! We're at the 7th inning already!"
"Hey! Asuka! Hurry up and save me! Think of some way to get rid of this!!" Rina screamed, waving her arms and legs around like crazy. "WAAA! It's so high!!" the kid cried, with the glove floating beside her. 'Tell me to think of an idea...' Asuka thought, 'What am I supposed to do?!'
The girl started crying, "Wahhh!! I'm sorry..."
"You're so annoying!!" Rina yelled, "Shut your mouth!"
"Then," St. Tail took out a sharp little arrow-shaped needle with a heart at the top. "Watch my last pitch!" The balloon exploded and baseball gloves started falling all around Rina and the girl as they were falling. "AHHHHHHHH....!!"
St. Tail stood, making the glove hover above her hand. "I'm giving this back to the pitcher! No matter if you're a fan of the Dolphins, but secretly stealing other people's belongings isn't right!"
"What..." Asuka looked dazed. "So you stole that glove!?" he yelled at the girl.
The girl sat on a pile of gloves, crying hysterically, "Wah! I'm never going to do that again....."
"And, there's this," St. Tail reached out and took the tickets from Rina, "I'll take that too!" Rina stood up on the mountain of baseball gloves and tried to grab the tickets. 'No! The tickets...'
St. Tail floated away with her trademark bouquet of balloons. "See you next time!"
Back in the classroom of St. Paulia Academy...
"So that's why," Asuka yelled, "I said we'll meet at Gate 2!"
Meimi, holding the precious tickets in her hand, yelled back, "What!! Where's the Gate 2?!"
"Didn't I say that it was at the north entrance!?" Asuka was clearly frustrated at Meimi. Side note: Are you an idiot!?
"Which side is the north side?!" Meimi shouted at him, with a lot of classmates staring at them. Seira had a sweat drop on the side of her head, "Er..."
Rina looked at Meimi arguing with Asuka Jr. 'Haneoka Meimi!' she thought to herself, 'I will find evidence to prove this...!!'
At Big Dome, during the Dolphin's baseball game...
"And he pitched the ball! Another strike! Three strikes!!" the announcer's voice boomed out. "Three players have been struck out!"
"The pitcher is playing so well!" Asuka Jr. said.
"Ah... uh!" Meimi looks at him. 'I refuse!!' she thinks back of a few nights before of what Asuka Jr. said... 'I just want to catch her myself.'
Asuka grinned, "If St. Tail hadn't helped, there wouldn't even be a game today!"
Meimi turned a little red, "Eh? Huh?"
"Why are you all red?" Asuka looked at Meimi strangely. Side note: What a weird person!
"This..." Meimi's face turned completely red, "This should be because of my own reason! Because the weather's hot...!"
